AUSTRALIA is celebrating its win in the Fed Cup, after downing an under-strength Russia 4-0 in Hobart over the weekend.
The result sees our ladies slide into the semi-final of the competition for the first time in more than two decades.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports, Gold Coast star Sam Stosur led the charge with in-form Casey Dellacqua – both thrashing their young opponents in the singles rubbers.

Dellacqua and Ashleigh Barty then ensured a whitewash at the Domain Tennis Centre.
Their semi-final opponent will depend on the outcome between the tie between Slovakia and Germany.
