UPDATE: 12yo charged after allegedly stabbing classmate in school knife fight

Update @6.00am, June 28 | A 12-year-old boy has reportedly been charged, after he allegedly stabbed a classmate in the back at a Logan School.

Shailer Park State High School went into lockdown on Thursday afternoon, after a fight broke out between the two students.

The 13-year-old victim is expected to make a full recovery, after getting stitches for the wound.


The victim’s mother told Newscorp she’s shaken and disgusted by the unprovoked and random attack.

It’s understood the 12-year-old boy has been charged with one count of wounding.

Earlier @3.30pm, June 27 | A STUDENT has reportedly been stabbed during a fight at a high school south of Brisbane.

Shailer Park State High School was sent into lockdown during the incident on Thursday afternoon.

It’s understood two students were fighting when one of them produced a knife and stabbed the other.

Thankfully, the victim’s injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The injured student is believed to be in a serious but stable condition. Their gender and age is not known.

A 13-year-old male student is in police custody, assisting them with their investigation.

The lockdown was lifted shortly after the incident and all students were allowed home at 3pm as per usual.
