The Gold Coast Suns will start their 2018 pre-season campaign with two games in Queensland.
Firstly, they’ll head to Townsville to take on Geelong on March 4.
The match will likely see Gary Ablett play against the Suns for the first time, after returning to Geelong a couple of weeks ago at the end of the trade period.

Suns Chief Executive Mark Evans said they’re looking forward to meeting fans in Townsville.
“North Queensland as a whole is a really important catchment region for our club, and to be able to bring AFL to Riverway Stadium in 2018 is significant,” he said.
The Suns are coming back to the coast on March 11, hosting the Brisbane Lions at the Southport Sharks.
“It’s great we’ll have footy on the Gold Coast as part of the JLT Community Series,” Mark Evans said.
The Suns won’t be able to play at Metricon Stadium until June, due to the Commonwealth Games occupying the facilities.
While the competition won’t be broadcast on free-to-air TV, all 18 matches of the JLT Community Series can be watched on Fox Footy and the AFL Live App.
