SUNS confident of getting Lemmens back for Bulldogs clash

THE SUNS are expected to welcome back young gun Sean Lemmens for this Sunday’s home game against the Western Bulldogs.

The 19-year-old was substituted out in round nine with a corked calf, but the club’s website reports, Lemmens is likely to be available for selection to play at Metricon Stadium.

Described as a “ball of energy”, Lemmens has been a regular feature of Guy McKenna’s backline puzzle for the Gold Coast this season, impressing with his flashy counter-attacking ability.

The first-year player is set to be closely managed by the club’s medical staff over the next couple of days and high performance manager Stephen Schwerdt is confident he’ll be good to go.

“He should be fine and is expected to be up and running so he should be available for selection this week,” Schwerdt said.

The SUNS will be looking for their fifth-straight win and seventh of the season when they line up against the Bulldogs.

The round ten clash between the SUNS and Bulldogs kicks off at 3.20pm on Sunday at Metricon Stadium.
