A FIREY AFL match has been played out between the Suns and Power at Metricon Stadium, in what was the final home game of the 2015 season for the Gold Coast.
The teams were greeted with wet conditions last night, with Port Adelaide making the most of it to come away winners 12.16 (88) to 7.9 (51).
In the post-match press conference, Gold Coast coach Rodney Eade confirmed, he will complain to AFL umpires boss Wayne Campbell over what he believed was “one way” officiating.
“I would certainly like some of our forwards to get protection at times, that would be handy,” Eade said.
“I think I might talk to Wayne Campbell during the week about that.”
Charlie Dixon and Tom Lynch seemed to bear the brunt of the calls, forcing tempers to flare just prior to the halftime siren.
Lynch went to the aid of teammate Brandon Matera following a hard tackle on Angus Monfries and could be seen throwing punches at Port’s Cam O’Shea.
Power’s Jasper Pittard then stepped in and landed a couple on Lynch before an all-in scuffle saw Lynch lose his guernsey.
