Suns go down in the West

THE GOLD Coast Suns put on a thrilling final quarter show at Patersons Stadium on Saturday but were unable to seal the deal against a strong West Coast outfit.

Eagles fans watched in horror as the SUNS came from 35 points down at the three-quarter time to hit the front with minutes left.

But a late goal from West Coast nudged the home side back in front, with the Eagles winning 103 to 100.

It’s the third loss in a row for the Suns, after going down to the Sydney Swans at Metricon Stadium last week and Adelaide the week before.

It also means the next few weeks will be a tough time for the Suns, coming up against Geelong, Hawthorn and Collingwood in the next three matches.

They currently sit in 8th spot on the ladder and will need to win those matches if they hope to stay in finals contention.
