The Suns finals hopes have been dealt another blow with the side going down to the battling Western Bulldogs in Cairns last night.
The Gold Coast side is still reeling after the loss of skipper Gary Ablett – the dual Brownlow Medallist was ruled out for the rest of the season this week, after undergoing a shoulder reconstruction.
The Bulldogs kicked six unanswered goals in the final term to score a comfortable 13.16 (94) to 9.12 (66) win.

If Essendon beat Collingwood today, the Suns will be knocked out of the top eight.
Coach Guy McKenna says it wasn’t the absence of Ablett that cost them, it was the lack of intensity shown by the 22 men who took to the field.
