GARY Ablett has beaten his former AFL club for the very first time in the Gold Coast Suns 40 point victory over Geelong on Saturday night.
Gold Coast came back at Metricon Stadium to run over the Cats, with eight unanswered goals either side of halftime setting up a 118 to 78 triumph.
The Suns now sit in seventh on the ladder.

Coach Guy McKenna described the win as one of the best in their three and a half year history.
“Given the opponents and their proud history, it’s certainly up there. To beat them, you have to perform well and almost play them at the same game,” he said.
Suns teenager Jack Martin played his second match for the club, after injuring his shoulder in his AFL debut in Round One and kicked his first goal for his career.
Harley Bennell starred, kicking a game-high six goals.
