Suns star Tom Lynch grabs All Australian nod
Gold Coast Suns star Tom Lynch has been selected in the AFL All Australian Team which was unveiled in Melbourne on Thursday night.
It’s the first time the forward has been selected in the Australian side and he will be joined by eight other debutantes in the team.
It’s been a big year for Lynch, who has kicked a massive 66 goals in his 22 games this season to sit third in the AFL in goals.
The 23-year-old’s stellar season sees him head into tonight’s Gold Coast club championship as favourite to win the club’s best and fairest.
The All Australian Team was heavily dominated by Sydney Swans players, with five making the cut, including Lance Franklin and Josh Kennedy.
Geelong Cats captain Joel Selwood was named as All Australian captain for the third separate season, having previously being given the honour in 2013 and 2014, while the Adelaide Crows’ Rory Sloane was named as his vice-captain.
