SUNS surge into AFL top-eight with third-straight win

THE GOLD COAST SUNS have made it three-straight with a nail-biting win over Carlton in front of a roaring crowd at Metricon Stadium.

A Jack Bowes goal in the dying seconds of Sunday’s match saw the home side claim victory by just two-points 8.11 (59) to 8.9 (57).

The result keeps the Blues winless for the 2019 season so far, while the SUNS surge into sixth place on the AFL ladder.

It’s also a major boost to the confidence of the Gold Coast side, which suffered a one-point loss to St Kilda in the first round, before defying critics to claim wins over Fremantle and the Western Bulldogs.
