UPDATE 22/10/16 8:20AM | Shane Van Gisbergen is in a good position to take out the Supercars title after dominating practice runs for the Gold Coast 600.
The Kiwi leads the series, 139 points ahead of nearest rival and Holden teammate Jamie Whincup, with three rounds remaining.
Qualifying kicks off at 10:45AM on Saturday and the main race will get underway at 1:55PM.

EARLIER 21/10/16 9:37AM | After a huge build-up, the 26-car strong Virgin Australia Supercars Championship field hit the track at the Castrol Gold Coast 600 today.
Three practice sessions await today, with teams looking to perfect their cars ahead of qualifying and 600km of racing across Saturday and Sunday.
The Pirtek Enduro Cup will be decided this weekend, with only six-points separating Bathurst 1000 winners Will Davison and Jonathon Webb from Red Bull Racing Australia’s Shane van Gisbergen and Alex Premat.
Off the track, fans will also get to ‘Parte in Paradise’ with concerts tonight and Saturday featuring some of Australia’s leading music acts.
Peking Duk, supported by L D R U, will kick off the big weekend of entertainment tonight, while Australian bands The Living End, The Rubens and Birds of Tokyo will headline Saturday night’s concert in the Broadwater Parklands.
Fans will also see the return of Robby Gordon’s spectacular Stadium Super Trucks, with local star Toby Price and female MX star Sara Price jumping aboard the high-flying machines.
For Fans heading to the race this weekend, free public transport is available on select services to and from the event with a pre-purchased event ticket.
