Hazardous surf is expected on the beaches again this weekend, prompting safety reminders from Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ).
We’re being urged to use common-sense and put safety first if heading to the beach.
It follows another hazardous surf warning from the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) for Gold Coast Waters.

With surf conditions unpredictable, SLSQ lifesaving operations coordinator Nathan Fife wants any potential beachgoers to be extra vigilant.
“We are expecting to see some large and unstable surf conditions.
“This can often lead to lots of water movement, causing flash rips and strong currents.
“Conditions are expected to be extremely challenging and we’re urging everyone to be cautious, adhere to the warnings and directions given by lifeguards.
“If you are heading down to the beach, take a minute to pay attention to what the local conditions are, and avoid putting yourself or others at risk” he said.
