The iconic Surfers Paradise has been named the top regional destination that Aussie travellers will be exploring these school holidays, according to travel website Wotif.com
Broadbeach also appeared in the top 10 – coming in at number six.
Queensland was the outright most popular state for Australian domestic travellers with Cairns (#2), Maroochydore (#3), Noosa (#4) and Port Douglas (#8).

But Wotif said the reason Surfers Paradise was the outright winner was because: “The resort and apartment style options…only metres from the iconic beach.”
The company created its list based on the amount of accomodation booked through its website between 17 September and 8 October 2016.
