Survey reveals Gold Coast women are stressed

NEW data suggests women on the Gold Coast are more likely to experience higher levels of stress and lower levels of wellbeing than men.

The survey is significant as for the first time ever, Australian men have significantly higher levels of wellbeing than women.

Professor Lyn Littlefield from the Australian Psychological Society says women should try to reduce their stress levels.

“Generally speaking women tend to put themselves last, and worry about everyone else before themselves,” she said.

“If sources of stress aren’t avoided or managed, stress can have an impact on physical or mental health.”

The annual snapshot marks National Psychology Week, running from the 9th-15th November.
