Susan Sarandon thanks fans for ‘prayers’ after brother’s death

Hollywood actress Susan Sarandon has thanked her fans for their support following the sudden death of her brother.

Terry Tomalin, 55, was known in his home state of Florida as “the Tampa Bay Times‘ larger-than-life outdoors editor”.

He had a fatal heart attack last week while in St. Petersburg, taking a test with his teenage son Kai to become a life guard.

Sarandon (pictured), who is currently promoting her new film The Meddler, took to Facebook to acknowledge all the well wishers.

“Thank you to everyone who reached out with love at the passing of my brother Terry Tomalin,” the Oscar-winning actress wrote.

“I will pass on your prayers to his wife and family.”

She then posted a Tampa Bay Times article in tribute to her brother which included quotes from his wife and St. Petersburg Deputy Mayor Kanika Tomalin.

“We are devastated,” she said. “He loved us. He loved his family so much, and we loved him.”
