Suspect charged after man stabbed in neck

A MAN has been charged with stabbing another man in the neck in the NSW Riverina city of Wagga Wagga on Friday.

Police and paramedics were called to reports of a stabbing at a unit block on Marshall Street in Ashmont during the early hours of Friday morning.

Why they arrived, officers found a 44-year-old man with stab wounds to his neck.


He was taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital in a stable condition.

Following investigations, a 46-year-old man who is known to the victim was arrested at an address in Ashmont.

He has since been charged with wounding with intent to murder and two counts of destroying property.

The man was remanded in custody overnight and was due to appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court today.
