Suspected drug dealer crashes car loaded with cannabis while drunk

A SUSPECTED drug dealer has crashed a car loaded with marijuana in northern New South Wales.

Police said the Mazda sedan was spotted being driven recklessly on the Newell Highway before crashing roughly 5km north of Bellata on Tuesday morning.

The 41-year-old man behind the wheel was arrested after failing a roadside breath test.

It’s alleged police also found a kilogram of cannabis in the man’s vehicle which they say was bearing Queensland number plates.

The driver was taken back to Narrabri Police Station where it’s alleged he returned a subsequent breath analysis reading of 0.080.

He was charged with driving with a mid-range PCA and supplying and possessing a prohibited drug.

The 41-year-old was released on conditional bail and is set to front Narrabri Local Court next month.
