Suspected pedophile walks into NSW primary school, confronts little boys in toilet

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a suspected pedophile entered a Sydney primary school yesterday afternoon and approached five little boys in a toilet block.

It’s believed the man – described as being aged in his 60s – entered the Botany Road school at Rosebery shortly after 3pm and hid out in a toilet block where it’s alleged he confronted five boys aged 10 and under as they walked in.

Police said the man grabbed an eight-year-old boy by the arm, causing the other students to yell and scream.

A ten-year-old boy was also allegedly hit in the shoulder before all five classmates ran away.

It’s further alleged the man pushed a small seven-year-old girl while running from the toilet block.

The children reported the incident to staff, who contacted police.

Detectives from Redfern Local Area Command are investigating the incident and are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time to contact Crime Stoppers.

In particular, they would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being aged in his 60s, about 165-170cm tall, with a bald head and facial hair on his chin, and tanned skin.

He was last seen wearing a gold-coloured jacket, grey pants, and black leather shoes. He also had glasses hanging from his neck.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to these incidents to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information you provide will be treated in the strictest of confidence. We remind people they should not report crime information via our Facebook and Twitter pages.
