Suspected stolen car set alight at Gold Coast footy club

A suspected stolen car has been set alight in the carpark of a Gold Coast sports club.

Emergency services were called to the AFL club in Labrador around 4am on Thursday after receiving calls an SUV was well alight.

It took firefighters around half an hour to get the blaze under control and the car was completely destroyed.


Queensland Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident.

Investigators believe the car had been stolen as the owner is away on holiday.
