Investigations are underway after a fire broke out in a business in Mermaid Beach in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services were called around 3.45am following reports of smoke coming out of a health spa clinic along Cronulla Avenue near Karen Avenue.
Fire fighters spent almost an hour battling the blaze, which had spread to a number of nearby businesses within the same building.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services report all fires were out around 5.20am, and they left the scene in the hands of police.
Police report that the business has been extensively damaged, and presently have the business under police guard.
Fire investigators and forensic officers will investigate the circumstances around the fire today.
Paramedics remained on scene throughout the incident, but luckily no injuries were reported.
