Swimmer hospitalised after getting hit by boat at popular Gold Coast creek

A swimmer has been hospitalised after they were struck by a boat in Currumbin Creek.

Emergency services were called to the creek off Durrigan Street just before midday, following reports of a boating incident.

An adult man had been swimming, when he was hit by a passing boat on the head.

He was assessed for a head injury briefly at the scene, before being taken to the Robina Hospital for further treatment.

He’s believed to be in a stable condition.

Queensland Ambulance report that the injury was not too bad, because the boat was travelling at a very slow speed.
