Swimmer rushed to hospital after another Gold Coast near-drowning

A swimmer has been taken to hospital after another near drowning on the Gold Coast.

The person was pulled from the water at Tugun beach just before 9.00am.

Queensland Ambulance said paramedics were called to the scene to treat the swimmer.

They have since been taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

It follows a series of water-related incidents across the Gold Coast over summer, including the death of a Victorian tourist in a Broadbeach canal earlier this week.

All these idiot tourists need some basic education. Or even better stay home.

Swimming between the flags sometimes does not help.
Have seen flags placed in rip areas many times.
You need to use common water sense and not rely on others to save you in case of trouble
Can’t swim, don’t go in!
