Sydney business collapses as fire tears through building

More than 12 fire crews are battling a major blaze at a shopfitters business in Sydney’s southeast.

Emergency services rushed to the industrial complex on Botany Road, Botany, about 12.15.

The blaze is believed to have started in the top level of the building and quickly spread.

Fire fighters were forced to evacuate after the roof collapsed.

Botany Road has been closed between Edgehill Avenue and Sir Joseph Banks Street with motorists urged to avoid the area.
