Sydney cab driver charged with indecently assaulting female passenger

A cab driver has been charged with indecently assaulting a woman who he drove home from the Sydney CBD last Friday.

Police said that around 11.45pm, the 25-year-old woman left a licensed premises on George Street and got into a taxi, instructing the driver to take her to Leichhardt.

During the journey, the 45-year-old driver allegedly indecently assaulted the woman a number of times.


She reported the incident to police and following investigations, the driver handed himself into Glebe Police Station where he was arrested yesterday.

He was charged with assault and indecent assault and is due to face Downing Centre Local Court on 13 January 2017.
