Sydney cafe robbed at knife-point by ‘man in ski mask’

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a cafe was robbed at knifepoint in Sydney’s southwest yesterday morning.

A man armed with a knife allegedly burst into the Doris Street business in Picnic Point just after 7.30am.

Police said the man threatened staff into handing over a stash of cash.

He fled the store without incident. Fortunately, no one was physically injured

Police are still searching for the offender who they say was wearing light-coloured pants, a blue hooded jumper and a ski mask, or something similar over his face.

Officers conducted an extensive search of the area with the assistance from the dog squad however the man could not be found.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
