Sydney fashion designer charged with indecently assaulting models

A man posing as a fashion designer has been charged over allegedly assaulting models and committing acts of indecency in Sydney.

Police were contacted in late June by a media outlet to report receiving numerous complaints from models about alleged indecent assaults by a fashion designer.

Detectives from Eastern Beachers Local Area Command commenced an investigation and spoke with two women – aged 20 and 22 – who reported acts of indecency between April and May this year.

Following further investigations, a 31-year-old man was arrested at a shopping centre in Bankstown, about 9.50am today (Tuesday 21 July 2015).

He was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with five counts of assault with act of indecency.

He has been granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Waverley Local Court on Thursday 30 July 2015.

Inquiries are continuing.
