Sydney High School put into lockdown following reports of armed man

UPDATE: SYDNEY Boys High School has been cleared of any threat following earlier reports that an armed man was on school grounds.

Police were called to Sydney Boys High School at Moore Park just after 3.00pm following reports of a suspicious man.

Following a police operation officers discovered the man was not armed, and was reportedly just holding a bag and a bottle of coke.

Cleveland Street has been reopened.

EARLIER: A SYDNEY high school is reportedly in lockdown after an armed man was spotted storming around the grounds.

Police were called to Sydney Boys High School at Moore Park following reports of a suspicious man.

A police operation is currently underway with motorists advised to avoid the area.

Cleveland Street in both directions between Anzac Parade and South Dowling Street has been closed.
