Sydney man charged after allegedly setting fire to wife
A man has been charged after allegedly setting fire to his wife in Sydney’s southwest.
Police and paramedics were called to a home on Elizabeth Drive in Liverpool around 6pm on Saturday night.
A 30-year-old woman was found with burns to her left leg and left hand.
She was treated at the scene before being taken to Liverpool Hospital and has since been released.
A 36-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Liverpool Police Station.
Police will allege the man splashed petrol on his wife’s clothing before lighting a cigarette which set the woman’s clothes alight.
He has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He’ll front Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday.
