A man’s been charged over the alleged online exploitation of a child on Sydney’s northern beaches.
Detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad began talking online with a man in February.
Police allege that the man thought he was talking with the 40-year-old male relative of a nine-year-old girl.

The man is accused of engaging in sexually explicit conversations, discussing acts he wanted to perform on the child.
He’s also alleged to have sent sexually explicit material on several occasions.
A 43-year-old man was arrested outside a business at Collaroy Plateau on Thursday.
A search warrant was also executed at a home on Scotland Island with several electronic devices seized.
The man has been charged with being an accessory before the fact to an attempted sexual intercourse with child under the age of 10 years, and seven counts of use carriage service to transmit/publish/promote child porn.
He was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court on Friday.
