Police are investigating after a man was stabbed after answering his front door in Whalan, west of Sydney’s CBD overnight.
Officers have been told about 9.30pm on Saturday a 39-year-old man was at home in Gasmatta Crescent when two or three men arrived with a 23-year-old woman.
They argued before he was stabbed in the chest. His attackers then left.

The stabbing victim left his home and was walking along Luxford Road when the 23-year-old woman approached him and allegedly tackled him.
The man was treated by emergency services and taken to Westmead Hospital.
The 23-year-old woman, who is known to the man, was arrested and taken to Mount Druitt Police Station where charges are expected to be laid.
Investigators still want to speak to two men who may be able to assist with their inquiries and are urging anyone with information on the incident to come forward.
