TWO police officers have been injured during the dramatic arrest of a wanted man in Sydney.

The man allegedly put up a fight when the officers attempted to arrest him.

A male constable suffered grazes to his left hand and elbow after he was pushed into a brick wall, while a male senior constable suffered grazes to his head and knee.

The man was eventually arrested and searched by police.

It’s alleged he was found in possession of several clear resealable plastic bags containing what is believed to be heroin and meth (ice).

The 33-year-old was taken to Day Street Police Station where he was charged with the outstanding warrants and with assaulting police, resisting arrest, possess prohibited drug and supply prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today.

Both officers were treated for cuts and abrasions and completed their shifts without further incident.
