Sydney shop worker bashed with pole

A violent armed robbery is under investigation at a takeaway store in Sydney.

Police say two men walked into the shop on Douglas Road at Quakers Hill at around 8:00pm on Monday night.

The 50-year-old woman working there was out the back cleaning.  One of the men walked over to her and hit her with a metal pole or bat..


She was hit in the head and on her hand, causing large cuts.

While that was happening the second man stole cash from the till.  Both left before Police got there.

The woman was taken to hospital where she remains in a stable condition and is expected to undergo surgery.

A crime scene was established while detectives from Quakers Hill Local Area Command commenced an investigation.
