A Sydney woman has been fined after being caught failing to self-isolate three times while holidaying in Byron Bay.
The woman from Cronulla had been identified as a close contact of a positive case.
Police checked up on the 27-year-old at a resort in Byron Bay on Thursday night after a tip-off the woman wasn’t isolating, nor had been tested.

Officers advised the woman of her obligations and gave her personal protective equipment so she could go and get tested.
Police checked up on her again on Friday night and found she was once again not self-isolating.
The woman was fined $1000.
Officers visited the resort again on Sunday afternoon after reports the woman was swimming in the resort pool and not self-isolating.
She was given another $1000 fine.
Two people from Sydney’s northern beaches have also been issued $1000 fines after they were found to have breached their lockdown to travel to Yamba for a holiday.
Police spoke to the pair on Saturday, finding they did not have a lawful excuse for leaving the northern beaches.
Meantime a wedding venue at Fairfield in Sydney’s south west has been fined $5000 after it hosted a wedding on Saturday with up to 700 guests, twice the allowed limit.
