Sydney woman charged with murder of newborn baby
Police have charged a woman with the murder of an eight-week old baby in Sydney’s west.
Emergency services were called to a home on Sedgman Crescent in Shalvey just after midday on Tuesday where the baby girlwas found unconscious in a bath.
The girl was rushed to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead but died a short time later.
A 35-year-old woman was arrested at the home and taken to Westmead Hospital under Police guard.
Detectives have since charged the woman with murder.
She faced a bedside court hearing this afternoon where she was refused bail.
The woman will reappear in court on March 31.
