TAFE charity luncheon to benefit the blind

THIS month TAFE Queensland Gold Coast will play host to a charity luncheon to benefit the famous Guide Dogs Queensland cause, helping to support vision impaired Australians.

Held at Visions Restaurant at the Ashmore campus on Thursday between 11:30am and 2:00pm, the event will feature a fully catered luncheon, entertainment, and information about their cause, Guide Dogs Queensland.

In keeping with the fun, animal nature of the charity, the luncheon will be based around a barnyard theme, with a plethora of decorations and entertainment to set the scene.

All proceeds raised by the event will go towards the charity with any expenses generously covered by Campus facilities.

Established in 1960, Guide Dogs Queensland helps to equip, empower and educate Queenslanders who are blind or vision impaired, of all ages, with a range of orientation and mobility services.

All of their services, including their signature Guide Dogs are offered free of charge, and so the organisation relies on events like this luncheon to continue its work.

The luncheon also aims to let the students involved gain some industry experience in the non-profit field and aid the community at the same time.
