PETE Johnson a 29-year-old Washington Nationals fan and D.C. area lawyer, is the latest in a long line of optimistic fans to get a pre-emptive ‘championship tattoo’.
Johnson, was taking a post-lunch stroll with a friend when his friend stopped, opened the door to Ambrotos Tattoo and said, ‘Why don’t we do something dumb?’
For Johnson, something dumb meant getting ‘Nationals World Series Champs 2015′ in his handwriting tattooed on the top of his foot.
“It seemed like it was not the first super dumb idea they had heard,” said Johnson. “It’s not like I got the Lombardi trophy on my abdomen. Even if they don’t win it this year, I think every time I look down at it I’m going to smile, just thinking about the experience.”
And should it all go wrong for the Nats then at least Johnson can console himself with the knowledge that he’s far…
