Sydney teacher charged with indecently assaulting young female students

A TEACHER has been charged over the alleged repeated indecent assault of four young girls at a school on Sydney’s Lower North Shore.

The 51-year-old man was arrested at a home at Russell Lea just before 7.30am today after police launched an investigation following reports four students had been indecently assaulted by a teacher.

A search warrant was also executed at the home and detectives seized a number of items.

The man was taken to Burwood Police Station, where he was charged with 13 counts of aggravated indecent assault – victim under authority.

Police will allege in court the teacher indecently assaulted four girls, who were all aged between 11 and 12, on 13 separate occasions at school this year.

He was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court later today.
