The 2017 Mayor’s Telstra Technology Awards are now open – giving young Gold Coasters in grades 9-12 the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial idea with the help of professional mentors.
The Awards, now in their fourth year, will give teams of three students from a local school the opportunity to outline their innovative and original technological idea or concept. Twelve groups will be selected to move on to Phase 2 where they will develop their idea further in a series of mentoring sessions with Bond University, Startup Apprentice and Telstra, to be held at Bond University. Then, at a ‘pitch night’ in October, the groups will have to present their idea to a broader audience and convince the judging panel that their idea is the best and worthy of further development.
