A possible terror attack in Sydney has been foiled, after Police arrested a teenager.
The 18-year-old from Macquarie Park was taken into custody during an operation involving Australian Federal Police and NSW Police Force on Tuesday.
The teenager now faces a possible life sentence if found guilty of planning a terrorist act.

Authorities say he was scouting possible Sydney locations to carry out the “imminent” terrorist attack, after trying to get a gun within the last two weeks.
NSW Police Deputy Commissioner Catherine Burn (pictured) said the man had been a person of interest for some time and had been stopped from leaving the country at an airport back in February, as his passport had been cancelled.
He also had “associations with people currently before the court”.
