Teen airlifted to hospital after crashing into tree

A teenager is recovering in hospital this morning, after his car slammed into a tree in the Hinterland overnight.

Emergency services were called to Tamborine Mountain Road just after midnight, following reports a vehicle had crashed into a tree.

On arrival, crews found a male in his late teens trapped by his legs.

He was freed, with the assistance of Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, before he was airlifted to hospital.

Paramedics report he’d suffered serious arm and leg injuries, but was taken in a stable condition to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
