Teen allegedly found with ICE on the Tweed
A TEENAGER has been busted allegedly in possession of ice, during a traffic stop in Tweed Heads.
He was pulled over by officers from Tweed Heads Target Action Group. They were patrolling Kennedy Drive around 2.15am on Saturday when they spotted a red Toyota Corolla which stopped in Gray Street.
Police spoke to the two male occupants and discovered the driver was disqualified.
A search of the Toyota allegedly revealed a number of bags containing a substance believed to be ‘ICE’, a quantity of cash and a knife.
The 19-year-old Queensland man who had been driving the car was arrested and taken to Tweed Heads Police Station where he underwent a drug test. Police are awaiting the full analysis report of that test.
The man was later charged with possess prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug, drive whilst disqualified, custody of a knife and proceeds of crime.
He appeared at Tweed Heads Bail Court today and remains in custody to reappear on Monday 14 September.
