Teen assaulted, left with fractured jaw following soccer match fight

A teenager has suffered a fractured jaw when he was assaulted by a number of boys at the completion of a soccer match in South Granville yesterday.

Following the game, which was played at Ray Marshall Reserve between two under 17’s teams, a fight broke out between several of the players.

A 17-year-old boy was punched in the face a number of times and suffered a fractured jaw.


He was taken to Westmead Hospital where he is expected to undergo surgery.

Police from Rosehill are currently investigating the assault and would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident and have not yet spoken to police.
