Teen boy and girl charged over stolen car on Gold Coast

TWO teenagers have been charged after police located another stolen car on the Gold Coast overnight.

Officers were conducting routine patrols around 8.15pm on Tuesday when they spotted a stolen VW Passat traveling in the opposite direction at Shoalhaven Avenue at Pacific Pines.

Police lost sight of the vehicle, which had a blown tyre, before later finding it abandoned on Toohey Street.

Investigations led police to a nearby unit, where they located a 16-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl.

The boy has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, while the girl has been charged with receiving tainted property.

A Queensland Police spokesperson told myGC the vehicle had been stolen from a home on Bayswater Avenue at Varsity Lakes around 3pm on October 24.

It’s understood the vehicle had been parked out the front of the property with the car keys inside it along with a wallet and mobile phone.
