Teen carjacked by man armed with ‘sharpened screwdriver’

A 19-year-old has had his car stolen by two men armed with a sharpened screwdriver in Ormeau overnight.

Police say the teen and a 15-year-old boy were sitting under a shelter at a skate park on Cuthbert Drive when they were approached by the two men just before 8.00pm.

“One of the men asked for a lift, and when the 19-year-old refused the man produced a sharpened screwdriver,” Qld police said.

The teen handed over his car keys, before the two men took off in his white Suburu Impreza hatchback with QLD registration 740XUD.

Thankfully, no one was injured.

Police say the two men are described as being Caucasian and aged between 24 and 30 years.

One of the men was around 175cm tall with a slim build, neck tattoos, a full leg sleeve of tattoos on left leg and was wearing a white Adidas polo shirt, white Adidas hat and black shorts.

The second man is described as 170cm tall with a slim build, tattoos on both arms, a shaved head and was wearing a dark brown singlet and white Nike shoes.

People are being warned not to approach the men or vehicle, but to call police immediately if they see them.
