Teen charged after Gold Coast homes broken into, cars stolen
A teenage boy has been charged with stealing two cars after crashing into a house on the Gold Coast early this morning.
The first theft occurred just after 1.00am, when the 17-year-old broke into a home at Mudgeeraba.
Police say the teen searched through a Toyota Kluger at the home before finding the keys to a silver Mazda and driving away in it.
He then allegedly dumped the vehicle on Mudgeeraba Road a short time later before breaking into a house at Tallai and stealing a Toyota Hilux.
Whilst trying to make his escape, the teen crashed the ute into a Mudgeeraba house, which sustained minor damage.
The 17-year-old from Mudgeeraba has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of burglary and enter with intent.
He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates court today.
