Teen charged over repeated rape of four children known to him

A TEENAGER has been arrested and charged with raping four children known to him over the space of seven years in the NSW Illawarra region.

The children were aged between four and 12 years and were allegedly sexually and indecently assaulted between 2011 and 2018.

Police said detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad were made aware of the allegations last month.

Following extensive inquiries, the 18-year-old was arrested at Wagga Wagga Police Station on Wednesday afternoon and charged with almost 20 offences.

Among the charges include eight counts of sexual intercourse with a person aged between 10 and 14 and five counts of having sex with a child under the age of 10.

The 18-year-old has also been charged with six counts of indecently assaulting a person under 16.

The man was remanded in custody overnight and due to appear before a children’s court today.
