Teen charged over terrifying carjacking in Logan

An 18-year-old man has been charged after a woman was allegedly carjacked at knife-point earlier this year.

Police allege the man entered a car on Fourth Avenue in Marsden around 4am on July 21, threatening the female driver with a knife and demanding she get out of the car.

The terrified woman complied, and the man allegedly fled in the vehicle with three other men.

Several hours later, officers tracked down the woman’s white Toyota Corolla sedan after it crashed on Derby Road in Logan Reserve.

Following ongoing investigations, police have charged an 18-year-old Marsden man with one count each of armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on October 31.
