Teen charged over sickening assault of NSW police officer

A TEENAGER has been charged after a NSW police officer was seriously injured in Marsfield on Monday.

About 10pm, a Dog Unit officer was patrolling the area of Balaclava Road and Epping Road when he came across a young male acting suspiciously.

That officer and another two officers attempted to arrest the 16-year-old, when he allegedly kicked one of the officers in the face so hard that he fell to the ground, hitting his head on the road.

The teen has been charged with a number of offences,  including the assault of two security guards at a shopping centre.

He is due to face a children’s court today.

Meanwhile, a 17-year-old boy has also been charged in relation to the security guard assaults.

He was arrested by officer at a house in Wentworthville overnight and chagred with robbery in company.

He was refused bail to also appear at a children’s court today.
