Teen charged with stabbing man after handing himself in to police

A teenage boy has handed himself in to police after CCTV footage of a stabbing at a Sydney Railway Station was posted online yesterday.

The 17-year-old has been charged with wounding with intent after a 43-year-old man was stabbed during an altercation with the youngster at Kirrawee Railway Station on Sunday.

Police said the stabbing occurred after the older man confronted the teen after noticing him urinating on a ticket machine.

“Police will allege the man was standing on the concourse to the station when he noticed a younger man urinating on a ticket machine.”

“That man allegedly approached him and the two became involved in a physical altercation.

“It’s alleged the younger man produced a knife and stabbed the 43-year-old a number of times.”

The older man was rushed to St George hospital, however has since been released.

The 17-year-old is due to appear in Sutherland Children’s Court today.
