Police have charged a 15-year-old boy wth the attempted murder of former Wallabies star Toutai Kefu and his family following an alleged home invasion early this morning.
Kefu was left critically injured after being stabbed in the abdomen after disturbing intruders at his family’s Coorparoo home around 3.15am.
The 47-year-old was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital and has undergone emergency surgery, with Police revealing earlier today that he is expected to pull through.

Kefu’s wife, daughter and son were also seriously injured in the attack and have undergone treatment.
Police will allege three males broke into the home and were disturbed by one of the family members before the trio demanded keys to their car.
Other family members came to their aid before they were allegedly set upon by the trio who Police allege were armed with a knife, axe and machete.
Neighbours then came to assist, apprehending a 15-year-old boy who was taken into custody by Police.
Two other males fled in a Hyundai that was allegedly stolen from Forest Lakes earlier in the morning.
The 15-year-old Goodna boy has now been charged with four counts of attempted murder, three counts of assault causing grievous bodily harm and one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, break and enter, burglary and deprivation of liberty.
He has been refused bail and will appear in Brisbane Children’s Court.
A second 15-year-old presented to Princess Alexandra Hospital after suffering lacerations and was arrested by Police but is yet to be charged.
The third male remains on the run but detectives say they know who they are.
“It’s unacceptable that people break into houses and set upon them with weapons,” Detective Superintendent Tony Fleming told reporters.
“I have seen some of them (injuries) and this is brutal and violent and it’s just not on.”
